4723?
Yup.
That's February 17, 2026, to most round-eyes in the United States, and to the rest of the Jesuit-controlled world but, . . . as usual, I digress.
We've made it to 16 (subscribers) on You Tube, so it is somewhat easier now to maintain and update this avocation called Boomers Anonymous. Just embed videos, rinse, and repeat.
Still, readers deserve a broader, deeper narrative, as to why I choose to play a certain piece, or why my sense of synchronicity demands that, if I can help it, some meaningful content gets uploaded to the interwebs -- until it can't.
So, whenever I played RPG video games like Elden Ring, Dark Souls, I almost always play as an Astrologer/Battle Mage type. Why? I don't know . . . Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy perhaps?
The "predictors" and "soothsayers" believe that the Year of the Horse will be characterized as BOLD and UPLIFTING. Horses propel you with great speed and energy, and the Fire elemental adds to the fast-paced challenge we will face achieving goals and reaching (or not reaching) destinations put before us.
We are leaving the Year of the Wood Snake (basically, shedding our skins, remember?). This year, our collective task is to prove that we learned the lessons of 2025, and of previous years. Change can, and most likely will, come quickly, even suddenly, so get ready!
The last Fire Horse year was 1966, which happens to be the year that I was naturalized as a U.S. citizen at the tender age of 8. Needless to say, it was a BIG move in both mine and my parents' life paths.
So here it is, my YEAR OF THE HORSE Trilogy -- Episodes 4, 5, and 6 from Season Two:
- WILDFIRE (1975) from Michael Martin Murphey's "Blue Sky - Night Thunder"
- A HORSE WITH NO NAME (1971) from America's self-titled "America"
- RUN FOR THE ROSES (1980) from Dan Fogelberg's "The Innocent Age"
If you can, check out the introductory prefaces of these songs, which explain the background of each.
3 songs about horses, just because, well, it should be a heck of a ride. Happy New Year!
